True kindness doesn’t expect any reward…not even a warm, fuzzy feeling. It’s all about the interests of others, even at the expense of our own.

True kindness doesn’t expect any reward…not even a warm, fuzzy feeling. It’s all about the interests of others, even at the expense of our own.
It’s perfectly logical to think that if we appease everybody, we all win. But both history and profound spiritual morality show us that appeasement never works. Why? Appeasement emerges from self-interest. It’s not about other parties being happy. It’s about the appeaser being happy…such a model for collective peace and prosperity can never work.
The saying “you don’t know what you got till it’s gone” is sadly and gladly one of the more memorable ways that we learn sincere gratitude. It’s not through fun times that we’re taught integrity and wellness. It’s through loss that we’re able to recognise how full we are.
The problem with pain and suffering in the world is a subject constantly explored, but further studies into the problem with pleasure would potentially grant some productive changes…
A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out…
But don’t waste time to prove it.
