One of the most comforting things to see is a figure who has incredible authority over others, yet emits a manner of lowliness, never flexing their strength.
In April 2017, I wrote this poem for an arts’ project / event that we held at my church. The poem was written during a time when I was taken to a deeper level of understanding of what sacrifice and obedience mean.
I wrote this poem in 2017. It was a reflection of what I’d learnt following an intensive nine-month group programme of the deepest level of introspection.
In the current heightened climate of superheroes and comic book characters, the Punisher is by far one of the most insane fictional protagonists.
In western society’s human attempt at being the most free, liberal, expressionist, ‘anything-goes,’ ‘live-for-yourself,’ ‘do-you…’
In this current COVID era, on this tangible and physical plane of existence, there is nothing more valuable than a sound mind.
So I’d been touched in a very special way by the Bible book of Job in March 2013, yet I didn’t become a Christian.
