It’s perfectly logical to think that if we appease everybody, we all win. But both history and profound spiritual morality show us that appeasement never works. Why? Appeasement emerges from self-interest. It’s not about other parties being happy. It’s about the appeaser being happy…such a model for collective peace and prosperity can never work.
There’s so much advice out there on how to deal with fear. Perhaps the greatest wisdom about fear is to understand that it steals time without evidence.
In April 2017, I wrote this poem for an arts’ project / event that we held at my church. The poem was written during a time when I was taken to a deeper level of understanding of what sacrifice and obedience mean.
There is only one event I know of in history which has had the power to transform everything as we know it. No exaggeration…
A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out…
…accountability aims at recording and highlighting mistakes so as not to shame someone or conceal the errors, but to learn from them and improve everything involved long term, thereby solving the problem entirely.
