(1) Looking to the future with expectation of specific outcomes – this unwittingly creates anxiety and stress.
(2) Comparing ourselves to others – this is a natural response we have, born of self-preservation and our world that appears to influence OR enforce competition in everything. But we need not compete (mentally). It only creates more clutter in the mind whether we win or lose…
(3) Worrying about bad situations that haven’t even occurred – we do this to try and ready ourselves for pain, but this steals the joy of living in and for the present
