
Day 395 – Bobbing and weaving, ducking and diving…
In my experience, I’ve found that when asking people questions pertaining to their beliefs, they will often reply to the question with a preconceived, pre-meditated, rehearsed response that doesn’t actually answer the question, but instead displays self-preservation, self-defence, and sometimes an indirect, accusatory riposte. I would speculate that it’s because the question–especially when talking about something as profound as belief–must trigger the survival defence mechanism.
