Day 659 – “Your own worst enemy…”
Tuesday, August 3, 2021…
9:40 am…
There is much disharmony in the global church – God’s bride; the ambassadors of agape love…
Even though we know our enemy is spiritual, it is important to recognise the fiercest spiritual enemy of the lot…
Arguably, the greatest adversary to God’s church hasn’t been the spirit of another religion, the spirit of anti-Christ, or subjective morality’s relentless rejection of God’s Kingdom principles…
‘We’ are our own worst enemy; we–the church…
When spreading the Word, I often remind myself that when a person looks at me, they’re seeing all the atrocities the church has committed. This is a part of the calling one must endure in order to stand before the world representing Jesus as ‘His bride…’
Human fallibility, misinterpretation, weaknesses, wavering, and vile, atrocious abuses are all on the church’s CV…
When a person who doesn’t know Jesus sees us, they often will see the horrible things done in the name of Christianity…
We—the church—are our own worst enemy…
Advice I was given at the beginning of my walk with Christ: “keep your eyes on the Cross…”
Thankfully, we were and are warned in abundance about this difficulty…
Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Matthew 7:15
The aforementioned verse incites thought of those select tele-evangelists, who will deliberately target mature widows for financial gain.
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1 John 4:1
For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.
Matthew 24:24
There are people and religions out there that will look similar to Christ and perform miracles like healing, prophecy, and speaking in foreign tongues…
They may have wonderful gifts of preaching, teaching, leadership, and/or writing…
To our human senses, this may appear as though they have the Holy Spirit, but deeper discernment of the fruit of their daily life may uncover a different narrative…
But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.
2 Peter 2:1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them.
1 John 4:1-6
For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15
And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.
Matthew 24:11
For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,
2 Timothy 4:3
Read the Word of God, pray for illumination. And repeat. He is alive and He will show us the way when we seek…
