Finishing reading, I was sure that the contract indirectly and directly in some cases, indicated that they had complete control over my entire life. It even said that in resignation, I had to pay them a month’s salary ahead to get out of the contract or work a full month with them. I’d never seen this before.
The job provided a studio apartment, making my eyes widen at the potential freedom I had, but it was in accordance with living there with housing allowance and bills coming out of my salary. This didn’t sit well with me. Part of the promotion that got me to relocate was that my uncle Vernon had said I could stay at his place, rent and bills free—I was not inclined to pay rent or bills at all.
