Day 117 – The Hero We Need
CS Lewis knew his stuff.
At 35 years old, it was all supposed to be complete.
A loving wife, three or four children, one adopted, a successful writing career, and financial freedom so that money anxiety wasn’t a hindrance.
I even moved countries, just to make sure it would all come together.
There was no way I would be the single guy at the prophesied ‘adult’ social dinner.
How did it go so wrong when I really tried to fulfil this?
I’d had the dream since I was 10 years old!
Why didn’t I succeed?
Was my request too much?
Raw Truth Thought Journal is about life’s challenging moments and the spontaneous perceptions that emerge in my mind.
Now that I’m in no man’s land with an expired life plan, God at the helm, and faith through Jesus as my daily guidance, might as well keep a record to see where this all goes…

CS Lewis knew his stuff.
Despite their intense expressions, these three fictional villains who share an increasingly common psychological trait would no doubt say they’re living their ‘best life.’
Subtract selfish ambition and remove vain conceit…what a clear and uncluttered mind we’d have.
While they all have their phenomenal and thoroughly enjoyable merits, not a single ‘ology’ can account for the deeper questions or longings of the human condition.
“The real test of friendship is can you literally do nothing with the other person? Can you enjoy those moments of life that are utterly simple?”
“True friendship comes when the silence between two people is comfortable.”
Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: What! You too? I thought I was the only one.
Now that they own the most popular work of fiction, what are Disney planning to do with it (aside from the obvious of make a valley of cash)?
I love the ability that people have to speak multiple languages. It opens the mind to brand new opportunities, communication, culture, and ‘life-education.’
This is Us is likely the greatest show I’ve ever seen. The writer tapped into something unique that I’ve never seen done so well in a series: that enigmatic ‘thing’ is the immense significance of a solid, steadfast, loving father.
