2020 – Surrendering my Life…Reflecting on 35 Years

2020.4.23.

Every Thursday there has been a 20:00 applause for the NHS.

The first time I heard it, I was overwhelmed by the experience. It appeared like an activity that might mark the history books.

Now that it’s a weekly occurrence, I’m not so sure whether it will be seen as a powerful act of gratitude or an annoying distraction…

(31) Reborn

2014 – 2015. Age Thirty-One.

On December 22, 2014, I walked through the gates of London Heathrow Airport.

I don’t exaggerate when I say I’d come back a changed man; my moral compass had been torn to shreds.

I had done things in the Caribbean that I’d told myself I would NEVER do.

In essence, I was now a manufactured sociopath; just another person pursuing his own selfish ambition and vain conceit through work and pleasure.

A week later–Saturday, December 27, 2014–I found myself the recipient of an invitation to dinner at a close friend’s home.

Little did I know that accepting this invitation would carve out steps to a NEW life, being born again as a believer in Jesus Christ.

I still don’t understand how I became a Christian…

There were moments when I was absolutely repulsed by the Christians approaching me during this period in late December 2014, early January 2015.

The Christians didn’t know it, but there was a vindictive hatred in me toward their kind. I didn’t even know it! I’m only able to confess this because of revelation and hindsight!

Message from Jesus – “He who loses his life…will save it.”

Message from the World – “You’re about to LOSE your life.”
