2020 – Surrendering my Life…Reflecting on 35 Years

22.4.2020.

It’s been just over a month since employment was halted and perhaps four weeks under official-lock down.

I’m still thankful for the peace of mind.

The rumour-mill is spewing a lot of ideas about when this will end.

I think the most unified answer is the end of May, but the UK is in such a mess.

I’m predicting end of June at this moment, but we’ll see.

(30) “You’re going back to London.”

2013 – 2014. Age Thirty.

It was a Thursday evening in September 2014.

A Thursday I will never forget.

I’d recently emerged from a mental breakdown; a story that I will fully describe in my future book: The Paradise Seduction.

I was attempting to start again…again…

Having lived on the islands for five years, I was telling myself, I could STILL make it all work.

But that Thursday evening, a new thought entered my mind.

It was black and white.

It was focused.

It was clear.

It was gentle.

It was authoritative.

And it changed my life…

I’d just renewed my work permit and bought myself new running shoes as well as a new pedal bike.

I’d planned a new healthy lifestyle that I was committed to undertaking.

I even bought a Mixed-Martial-Arts punchbag, gloves, and mouth-guard, ready to take up lessons in MMA. I didn’t get long with any of my newfound purchases…

That Thursday, a voice entered my realm that instructed me to do something.

It was one sentence; so clear to me as I sat in the office alone:

“You’re going back to London.”

These words were absolutely preposterous.

In my mind, I had nothing left in London to return home to.

I cycled home.

It was raining.

The journey was about 20 minutes and as I arrived home, I messaged my friends and family…

I was coming back to London…

Message from Jesus – “You’re going back to London.”

Message from the World – “Stay on the island. You deserve it after what you’ve been through”
